The Economic Development Council of Collier County has appointed board chairwoman-elect Adria Parsons of Wachovia and board vice presidents Tom Conrecode of Collier Enterprises and Geoff Moebius of Cleveland Clinic Florida Hospital Naples. Additionally, the EDC welcomes five new board members: Todd Gates of Gates McVey, Carol Girardin of Girardin, Briant & Baldwin LLP, David Hart of WCI, Tim Parry of HMA, and Julie Schmelzle of Bank of America.
According to EDC chairman, Fred Pezeshkan, "They were chosen for their commitment to the EDC's proactive agenda for economic prosperity and their outstanding record of civic contributions to the community. These eight business leaders will complement the professional experience and outstanding community involvement of the officers and directors currently serving on the EDC board of directors."
In the coming year, the organization will strengthen the cooperation between the public and private sector in implementing successful economic development programs. Through the public/private partnership, the EDC will continue to strive toward its mission through business assistance, research and marketing to promote high wage job retention and creation in Collier County.
In addition to the chairman-elect, new vice residents and new board members, officers for the term are chairman, Fred Pezeshkan, Kraft Construction Co.; immediate past chairman, Robert E. Doyle Jr., Quarles & Brady; chairman-elect, Adria Parsons, Wachovia; and vice president, Brad Boaz, Barron Collier Cos. EDC directors are Buddy Brunker, Sprint; Laura H. Dixon, Haynes Corp.; Dr. Richard Pegnetter, Florida Gulf Coast University; Dr. Ursula Pfahl, Yamron Jewelers; Stephen L. Price, Florida Community Bank; Thomas M. Taylor, Hole Montes; and James Warnken, NCH Healthcare System.
Ending their three-year terms of distinguished service on the board are Michael Battaglia, SmartDisk Corp.; George Page, WCI; Gerri Moll, Bank of America; Alan Reynolds, WilsonMiller; and Thomas Riley, Artisans' Guild of Naples.
