Rob Edwards began his career in late 2008, during the depths of the financial crisis. While working for a single-family office at the time, he was responsible for all publicly traded equity, fixed income and derivative investments, and the experience helped forge his long­-term investment strategy.

“The experiences and knowledge I acquired during that time are paramount to how I think about investment management and plan­ning today,” he says. “Since then, I’ve lived through many different market cycles. Although cycles are different, they tend to share certain characteristics, particularly in the way people think and react during bull and bear markets.”

In addition to his work, Edwards also serves on the board of direc­tors at the David Lawrence Center, the leading mental health provider in Collier County.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

“It is never different this time.” Although market cycles are dif­ferent, they tend to share certain characteristics-particularly in the way people think and react during bull and bear markets.
