The city of Naples is working on a proposed plan to add a parking garage at the corner of First Avenue South and 12th Street South, just west of Goodlette-Frank Road and the future home of Gulfshore Playhouse’s 45,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art theater. The hope is that a new garage will help alleviate parking concerns in nearby areas such as Bayfront, Naples Square, Tin City, Baker Park and the Naples Design District. Citizens spoke both for and against the proposal this week at a meeting of the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency. The CRA did not make a decision Tuesday night but asked city staff to return with detailed proposals for both three-level and four-level garages.
