Lee County’s population increased by more than 23,000 people to 787,976 from July 2020 to July 2021, making it the ninth fastest-growing county in the country, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Adding 27,000 people from out of state or other countries during that time period, it ranked first among Florida’s 67 counties in net migration. Collier County, which has a reported population of 385,980, ranked 12th in the state with more than 8,900 new residents.
