The matriarch and beloved namesake of a longtime local restaurant died May 23. Bonita Springs resident Darlene “Dolly” Scott, the co-owner of Dolly’s Produce Patch & Eatery on Bonita Beach Road, died at age 87. An iconic down-home, mom-and-pop restaurant, Dolly’s has been especially known for its freshly baked pies for more than 25 years. Dolly and her son, Randy Alander, launched Dolly’s in 1996. Dolly’s remains open for breakfast and lunch daily. Dolly’s family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail S., in Bonita Springs. Her funeral service will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 777 Mooring Line Drive, in Naples. Burial will be private, but beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, a public celebration of Dolly’s extraordinary life will follow in a tent outside her restaurant, 9930 Bonita Beach Road SE.
