
Ciro M. Dominguez
City of Naples appointed Ciro M. Dominguez as its new chief of police, City Manager Jay Boodheshwar announced. The selection of a 38-year veteran ends a four-month search and evaluation of 175 candidates. Dominguez, who will assume his new role Oct. 16, began his career at the Naples Police Department in 1982. He worked his way from officer to sergeant before leaving in 1992 to take a leadership position with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Following 11 years with the FDLE, he worked for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority as deputy chief of police, then went to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, where he retired as colonel. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute and FDLE’s Foundational Leadership Program.
