The U.S. Postal Service announced holiday shipping and mailing deadlines for domestic, international and military shipping destinations to allow for the timely delivery of cards, letters and packages by Dec. 25. In addition, there will be no peak or demand surcharge this holiday season to offer increased predictability in pricing for customers, USPS officials said. Within the lower 48 states, deadlines are Dec. 16 for first-class mail, Dec. 18 for priority mail and Dec. 20 for priority mail express. For Alaska, deadlines are Dec. 16 for USPS Ground Advantage and first-class mail, Dec. 18 for priority mail and Dec. 20 for priority express mail. For Hawaii, deadlines are Dec. 16 for USPS Ground Advantage, Dec. 16 for first-class mail and priority mail and Dec. 20 for priority mail express. For Air/Army Post Office, Fleet Post Office and Diplomatic Post Office, deadlines are Nov. 6 for USPS Ground Advantage, Dec. 9 for first-class mail, Dec. 9 for priority mail and Dec. 15 for priority mail express military service. Shipping deadlines for international mail vary depending on the destination.
