After operating for 20 years in North Naples, The Real Seafood Co. restaurant is packing up and moving to Coconut Point in Estero. Its last day in North Naples was May 25.

“Our lease was up here. The building was sold and we found a location up there. It’s going to complement our restaurant really, really well,” said Olivier Morame, who has been the general manager of Real Seafood in North Naples for 10 years and will continue his role at the new location.

Expect Real Seafood Co. to relaunch this fall—most likely September or October—in its new regional home at Coconut Point on U.S. 41. The upscale seafood restaurant is building out the large space that previously hosted Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill and Hemingway’s Island Grill.

The future location of Real Seafood in Inc. at Coconut Point“We believe that spot is going to be much better for us in terms of the crowd that goes up there to the mall. We believe we are going to do very well there,” said Morame, who also is district manager of Real Seafood Co. and its restaurant group, Michigan-based Mainstreet Ventures, which also has Real Seafood Co. locations in Toledo, Ohio, and Ann Arbor, Bay City and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Real Seafood Co. of Naples opened in June 2004 at 8960 Fontana Del Sol Way, Suite 103, in the Galleria at Vanderbilt commercial condominiums. After permanently closing May 25, Real Seafood Co. Naples posted its moving news Sunday on its social media accounts.

“Our journey in the Naples community has been remarkable, filled with cherished moments and unforgettable encounters with our wonderful guests. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for allowing us to be a part of your milestones and special occasions over the years. As we prepare for this new chapter, we eagerly anticipate welcoming you to our new location this upcoming fall,” partially reads the post on Facebook and Instagram.

Real Seafood’s new 350-seat restaurant space at 8001 Plaza Del Lago Drive in Coconut Point is part of Lake Shops, a collection of retailers and restaurants on the northern end of the outdoor mall that also includes Rodizio Grill, Ted’s Montana Grill, Tony Sacco’s Coal Oven Pizza and Stone Mountain Creamery on a small lake with fountains across from Olive Garden. The more than 7,000-square-foot space has been vacant since 2020, when Bokamper’s closed after operating for about six years, following a more than five-year run by Hemingway’s.

Real Seafood is a dinner-only restaurant serving seafood from the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and the Great Lakes. Its menu includes entrees such as Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, Stuffed Atlantic Salmon and Coconut Encrusted Fried Gulf Shrimp.

Another restaurant is expected to move into the vacated space in North Naples, but it has not been announced yet.
