Bonita Springs-based catering company Artichoke & Co. partnered with World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises, to prepare meals that will be delivered by helicopter to victims of Hurricane Milton in Tampa and Orlando. On Oct. 10, about 25 Artichoke team members began working before daybreak using generators until power was restored around 10 a.m. The team on Oct. 11 will begin delivering 15,000 meals to Hammond Stadium in south Fort Myers, with 7,500 to be picked up by helicopter at 10 a.m. and another 7,500 at 1 p.m. daily. The meals will be delivered in Tampa and Orlando by WCK. Currently, the plan is for Artichoke & Co. to provide meals through Oct. 14.
