The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved a total of more than $1.23 billion in public assistance to aid Florida’s recovery from hurricanes Milton, Helene and Debby, including $555.3 million for Milton, $628.9 million for Helene and $53.6 million for Debby. As of Jan. 3, the state has removed 37.97 million cubic yards of debris, equaling more than 234,672 tractor-trailer loads, agency officials said. In addition, 19,940 households, a total of more than 47,586 people, are checked into Transitional Sheltering Assistance hotels and motels.
