Michael T. Ryan was named the new inspector general for the Collier County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office of Inspector General, County Clerk Crystal K. Kinzel announced. In his role, Ryan will be tasked with strategically planning and implementing the OIG’s mission of improving the effectiveness of internal controls and providing independent, objective audits, reviews and investigations designed to add value and improve county government. He is a senior executive with more than 20 years within the federal inspector general community, including criminal investigations and oversight. Ryan is a certified inspector general and fraud examiner, working in several offices, including the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Department of Treasury, Department of State and the Social Security Administration.
