Construction on another Naples-area apartment community recently began in Vanderbilt Commons on Vanderbilt Beach Road west of Collier Boulevard.

FL Star broke ground on the 48-unit Vanderbilt Apartments, a three-story, 60,000-square-foot building on 2.5 acres. The building’s site and foundation work will be completed this week and vertical construction should take about a year, said Gary M. Hains of FL Star.

Vanderbilt Apartments is being developed by an affiliate of FL Star, a conglomerate of real estate entities led by Hains and David E. Torres. FL Star purchased vacant commercial lots 5 and 6 of Vanderbilt Commons in July 2021 for 1.8 million.

Vanderbilt Apartments, 7245 and 7265 Vanderbilt Way, is part of the Vanderbilt Commons mixed-use planned unit development. The new two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments are being built behind the easternmost building in the Vanderbilt Commons retail center, which still is being built out.

At least three larger luxury apartment communities by other companies are under construction within about two miles from Vanderbilt Commons. Tree Farm Apartments and the last phase of Addison Place apartments are being built near the northwestern corner of Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road, and The Pearl apartments are under construction on the southeastern corner of that intersection.

Additional projects by FL Star include Hammock Park Apartments, a 265-unit community near the corner of Collier Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road; Milano Lakes, a 296-unit luxury apartment community; and Sapphire Cove, a new residential community in East Naples. FL Star also builds single-family homes in Golden Gate Estates.
