Babcock Ranch’s chamber of commerce, Biz@Babcock Ranch, will host a business expo to introduce dozens of businesses and professionals to the public at a family-friendly event Sept. 28.

The participating vendors, which numbered about five dozen at last count, and members of the Hatcherysmall business owners who use Babcock Ranch office space for their enterprises, will be on hand.

Only Babcock Ranch businesses will be participating in the expo, but organizers said anyone from outside the community is welcome to attend and enjoy music and giveaways. Food trucks will be at the site, as well.

Vendors are limited by industry type. There will be upward of three representatives from industries, services and professionals, including pool service, pool building, home watch, attorneys, accountants, electricians, health coaching, insurance, plumbers, travel agents, community churches and more.

Some business owners use space in the Hatchery. At last count, there were seven private and seven semiprivate offices for individual companies, and all were fully occupied.

There are 28 seats in the main area of the Hatchery for use by a variety of memberships.

The Hatchery offers two types of full-time membersDedicated Desk and Hot Desk. The Hatchery accommodates 15 full-time members with the rest being part time or community members. Membership is at 60 to 65 and is expected to grow to 80 to 90.

Not all members at the Hatchery are starting or managing a business, as many work remotely for other companies and use the Hatchery space for their office rather than work from home, officials for the office space said.

“We have 125 members of Biz@BR and 60 members in the Hatchery. This represents only a portion of the business fabric at Babcock Ranch; this is not the totality,” expo spokesperson Luz Castillo said.

“Business growth occurs through our retail centers, the Hatchery and partnerships, as well as home-based or remote business activities. We are meeting and engaging with new businesses every day.”

The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at Babcock Ranch Field House43281 Cypress Parkway, near the Babcock schools and Jack Peeples Community Park.
