An old car lot on Davis Boulevard launched a new dealership Monday in East Naples.

Germain BMW South had a busy first day of business on a lot that has been in the Germain family for decades. The new dealership focuses on certified pre-owned vehicles and serves as a satellite store predominantly for the southern part of Collier County, especially for Marco Island residents who own the luxury brand.

“We sold our first car (Monday)—first of many to come,” said Bryan Koser, Germain BMW’s e-commerce director. “We were packed in the service department. We serviced 28 BMWs.”

The lot at 3707 Davis Blvd. had been abandoned since April 2018, when Germain Honda relocated to a former plant nursery property on the northwest corner of Livingston and Pine Ridge roads. Its two vacated buildings on the north side of Davis Boulevard east of Airport-Pulling Road were demolished to make way for the BMW expansion.

The new business in East Naples supplements the existing new and pre-owned BMW dealership Germain BMW has operated since 2007 on U.S. 41 in North Naples just north of Immokalee Road. Germain previously had a small pre-owned BMW sales center on Davis Boulevard but that was years ago and pales in comparison to the new BMW dealership’s 27,324-square-foot building on 5 acres. Behind its glass front is a large showroom. The building has a service area on its western end and an 18-bay service center along the back. The new location also includes a parts center and sales stations and offices.

North Naples-based Waltbillig & Hood was the general contractor on the project for a building designed by Naples architect Mark J. Leonardi.

Next up, Germain has plans to build an 80,000-square-foot Lexus dealership on Immokalee Road west of Interstate 75. A Germain subsidiary purchased the more than 9 acres of wooded land in November 2019 for $5.15 million, Collier County property records show.
