The City of Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency has hired Phyllis R. LeFlore-Calloway as assistant director.
She will assist the CRA director in the agency’s operations and the implementation of projects and programs contained in the community redevelopment plans and be involved in all facets of the organization.
LeFlore-Calloway has more than three decades of experience in legal, employee, project management, and operations focusing on restructuring and sustainability.
She began her career with the City of Fort Myers in 2018, serving as the legal administrator and advisor in the city’s attorney office.
In April 2021, she was selected to serve as interim city manager. LeFlore-Calloway holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a double major in sociology from Delta State University and a Juris Doctorate from Novus University.
She formerly served as a board member with St. John First Missionary Baptist Church and a legal consultant with the Dunbar Festival committee.
In past years, she has been an invited visiting professor at Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College.
