After marking its 10th anniversary a few weeks ago, EJ’s Bayfront Cafe in Naples is doubling down on its local breakfast-lunch concept. A second location of EJ’s is targeted to open in mid-May in the former space of Meridian Cafe, which closed in late January after operating more than four years at Meridian Marketplace on the northeast corner of Pine Ridge and Livingston roads. EJ’s owner Eric Becker, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in St Louis, plans to duplicate his tried-and-true menu of eggs Benedict and other brunch favorites at his new cafe, and he may even offer some Meridian Cafe specials to please the former restaurant’s following, he said. EJ’s cafes are open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
