The Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Centers in Charlotte and Lee counties will close permanently at 7 p.m. Jan. 7. The Charlotte County center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 7 at Tringali Community Center, 3460 N. Access Road in Englewood. The Lee County center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 7 at 8099 College Parkway in Fort Myers. Those affected by recent hurricanes do not need to visit a center to apply for assistance. Homeowners and renters can apply by clicking here, using the FEMA App or calling 800-621-3362.
The county’s hurricane fund was established for accounting purposes and covering all hurricane-related expenses.
