The state’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will begin July 29 and run for two weeks, ending Aug. 11. The sales tax holiday will help families save money on items their students need for the new school year. Shoppers can buy school supplies selling for $50 or less per item without spending sales tax, including binders, notebooks, pens and pencils and lunch boxes. Also included are learning aids selling for $30 or less per item, including interactive books, jigsaw puzzles and other toys teaching reading or math skills. Clothing and footwear selling for $100 or less per item included are backpacks, pants, shoes, shirts and sweaters. Personal computers and related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or personal use selling for $1,500 or less per item include laptops, flash drives, printers and headphones.
