HM Restaurant Group, owner and operator of Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Dixie Fish Co., purchased Bonita Bill’s Waterfront Restaurant & Bar in Fort Myers Beach for $5.5 million this month. The establishment at 702 Fishermans Wharf will soon be renamed Bonita Fish Co. Company officials said it will be a fresh take on a local favorite that pays homage to its rich history with renovations retaining its rustic charm. Bonita Fish Co. will complement the neighboring Dixie Fish Co. by offering a fresh, coastal-inspired menu featuring local seafood and creative dishes. Renovations are set to begin immediately, with the restaurant temporarily closing and expected to open in early to mid-2025.
