Cape Coral City Council approved its $1.1 billion fiscal year 2025 budget during the final budget hearing Oct. 2. The budget includes a reduction in the property tax rate to 5.2188 mills while making investments in public safety, infrastructure and community services.
In addition to adding 68 new positions across multiple departments, the budget includes the North Cape Public Safety Complex comprising Fire Station 10, a training/community room and equipment space, the design and engineering phase of the Fire Station 5 rebuild, sidewalk expansion, Jaycee Park shoreline improvement, a new park on Northeast 15th Street and the acquisition of the Old Golf Course.
Infrastructure improvements include expanded road resurfacing and bridge maintenance and expansion of the North RO Water Treatment Plant, Everest Water Reclamation Plant upgrades and North Water Reclamation Facility expansion design.
