Cape Coral City Council approved an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection that will fund the Cape Coral Historic Caloosahatchee Shoreline Preservation Project with a $2 million grant. The money will pay for the design, permitting and construction of the Yacht Club seawall reconstruction. Construction of the marine improvements for the project is being bid by the construction manager at risk, who will develop a guaranteed maximum price. Council is expected to consider it in August, city management said. The seawall portion of the price is estimated to be $20 million.
