City of Cape Coral completed its Hurricane Milton debris collection pass two days ahead of its Thanksgiving Day goal, city officials said. The citywide effort, which began on Oct. 21, spanned six weeks and involved the collaborative efforts of the city’s contracted debris hauler, city staff and Waste Pro. During the cleanup, crews serviced more than 3,050 miles of curbside routes and collected 34,521 cubic yards of debris, which would fill more than 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Any remaining storm debris must be placed curbside in accordance with Waste Pro’s collection standards for horticulture and bulk waste. Residents can also bring debris to the city’s bulk waste drop-off site at 1200 Kismet Parkway. The site is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and accepts bulk items, horticulture debris and white goods.
