City of Cape Coral will begin construction this month on Lake Kennedy Racquet Center, starting with a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. March 24 at Lake Kennedy Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. In 2018, Cape Coral voters approved a $60 million expansion of the city’s parks and recreation amenities. The approved 15-year general obligation bond will fund major parks and recreation improvements throughout the city. Lake Kennedy Racquet Center will include pickleball and tennis courts with covered seating, as well as a pro shop, concession stand and parking.
