Caxambas Park on Marco Island will reopen to the public early this year. The park was destroyed during Hurricane Ian in 2022, and more damage was sustained when hurricanes Helene and Milton rolled through in 2024. Federal Emergency Management Agency officials said the contractor bidding process forced some repairs to start later than expected. Last month, Collier County Commissioner Rick LoCastro said the reopening projection for early 2025 is still on target. This includes completing the work on the concession building, marina store, seawall and docks.
