After receiving drinking water from Lee County since late January, the city of Fort Myers is beginning the final phases of its transition back to city-sourced water. The next phases to be completed over the next three days include areas of the city north of Colonial Boulevard, east of Interstate 75. Assistance from Lee County enabled the city to complete two new water wells, fill all water tanks to capacity, rehabilitate three existing wells, and begin planning a full expansion of water infrastructure citywide.
