Collier County Transportation Management Services Department staff will host an open house-style public information meeting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 27 on the Airport Road Widening Project between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Immokalee Road, which has reached the 60% design stage. The meeting will be at the North Collier Regional Park, Exhibit Hall, 15000 Livingston Road. Residents, business representatives and visitors can stop by to review the project displays and talk one-on-one with county staff and the county’s design consultants. There will not be a formal presentation.

The estimated $37.3 million project design includes a six-lane divided urban roadway with 11-foot travel lanes, a 22- to 29-foot raised median, curb and gutter on both sides, a 10-foot-wide sidewalk on the west side and a 6-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side, a stormwater drainage system, street lighting and minor traffic signal improvements.

Design completion is expected by the end of 2025. Construction may begin as early as fall 2026.
