Compass Rose Marina is planning to build a boat storage facility and marina as part of what was Bay Harbour Marina Village and Southern Comfort Storage, near the Matanzas Pass Bridge on San Carlos Island. The storage facility will include 286 dry storage boat slips enclosed in a concrete and steel structure built to withstand more than 200 mph winds and Category 5 hurricane strength conditions. Future plans for Compass Rose Marina also include 29 wet slips and 30,000 square feet of retail, office and mini-storage space. Also proposed is 20,000 square feet of civic space, a ship’s store, a restaurant, 75 residential condos and 15 townhomes. The project’s completion date has yet to be announced.
