Construction of Quantum Fiber’s fiber internet is underway and progressing on Sanibel Island, company officials said. Construction began Aug. 1 on the island’s east end and continues to the west. This new market build-out will deliver gigabit and multigigabit speed to more than 6,600 area homes and businesses. Phase 2 constructions include Periwinkle Way, Bunting Lane, Serenity Lane, Dixie Beach Boulevard, Center Street, Sand Castle Road, Bay Drive, Middle Gulf Drive, Donax Street, Junonia Street, Eagle Run Drive, Woodring Road, Angel Drive, Royal Poinciana Drive, Par View Drive, Casa Ybel Road, Atlanta Plaza, Farm Trail, Egret Circle, Windward Way, Sand Pebble Way and Beach Drive. The expected completion date, including sod restoration, is around mid-January 2025, company officials said.
