Construction on Southwest Florida’s next diverging diamond interchange is set to begin in March. The region has three in the works. Lee County’s first DDI was constructed on Colonial Boulevard, and another is planned for Daniels Parkway, but the interchange at Pine Ridge Road and Interstate 75 in North Naples will be the first for Collier County. The $27.5 million project is split into three phases, with phase one kicking off in March. It focuses on mobilization, utility coordination and partial construction of ramps, signals and signage. Phase two, which consists of constructing pavement along Pine Ridge Road and finishing construction of the ramps, is projected to start in early to mid-2026. The final stage should begin in mid to late 2026, when all the finishing touches will be put on the DDI. It is estimated to be completed in mid-2027, WINK News reports.
