After reopening in May, the downtown Fort Myers post office is closed again due to damage from Hurricane Helene. The Monroe Street location had drywall missing near the P.O. boxes, and two-by-four planks were visible. City Council member Liston Bochette confirmed Helene caused water intrusion, and a reopening date hasn’t been set. After Hurricane Ian in 2022, the location was closed for 19 months, WINK News reports.
