Southward Village, in the heart of the Dunbar community, is set to become a new hub for affordable housing as companies prepare to build on the now-empty site. Tobler Construction CEO John Tobler aims to spark more development in the area where he grew up. In partnership with Suffolk Construction, Tobler is working to make this vision a reality. Demolition of the existing Southward Village community took place in 2024 with plans to create 357 mixed-income units. Construction is expected to start later this year, with the goal of completion in the next few years, WINK News reports.
