From October 2023 to January, more than 21% of U.S. workers worked from home five or more days per week, while more than 67% did so at least one day a week. Florida was ranked the 17th best state to work from home, according to a study from personal finance website WalletHub. The data set ranges from the share of workers working from home to internet cost and cybersecurity. The study also considered factors like how large and how crowded homes are in each state. Together, the metrics show how feasible working from home is in terms of cost, comfort and safety. Florida was ranked seventh in internet cost, 15th in household internet access, 28th in average home square footage, 20th in share of population working from home, 30th in share of potential telecommuters and 31st in average retail price of electricity. New Jersey was the top-ranked state to work from home, followed by Utah, Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
