A dispute committee picked by Fort Myers City Manager Marty Lawing rejected a claim Jan. 31 from the United Soccer League that the city failed to follow rules it established for bidders seeking to redevelop City of Palms Park. Lawyers for the USL said Fort Myers council members Liston Bochette and Fred Burson broke the city’s own rules by not using a scale of one to five when determining the winning bid, WINK News reports.
