Hurricane Ian exposed many vulnerabilities, including the fire risk posed by electric cars if they are submerged in salt water. The government knew about it for years and even informed rescue personnel how to respond to such a fire, but left largely in the dark were car owners and people who found themselves handling these vehicles after the storm, WINK News reports.
