Prime HealthCare Service sold Lehigh Regional Medical Center to Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA Health Care as part of an asset purchase agreement in October. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. With the transaction expected to close Jan. 18, 2025, a notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act was filed Nov. 19, stating all 294 Prime Healthcare employees working at the 53-bed acute-care facility at 1500 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres will be laid off. HCA will continue operations of the medical center without interruption in service. As part of the sale, HCA committed to making offers to retain substantially all Prime Healthcare employees working there, according to the WARN notice.
