A mobile laundromat is providing free laundry washing to members of the Fort Myers Beach community through Friday. Beach residents, or anyone helping the beach community recover, can bring their laundry between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to the mobile laundromat at 5669 Estero Blvd. for their laundry to be washed at no cost. Three days after Hurricane Ian, Fort Myers Brewing co-owner Rob Whyte turned the brewery’s food truck into a mobile laundromat that includes three washers, two dryers and a 300-gallon water tank. Whyte has since been on the road, doing hundreds of loads of laundry to provide people in communities like Harlem Heights, Island Park, Pine Island and now Fort Myers Beach with the comfort of wearing their own, clean clothes.
