The Naples Garden Club board of directors unanimously approved and awarded a $50,000 grant as part of a $100,000 two-year pledge for fiscal years 2024 and 2025 to the Naples Botanical Garden for the Naples Garden Club Potting Bay in the M. D. Stephenson Potting House at its new Evenstad Horticultural Campus. The potting bay will be utilized to transfer sensitive seedlings as part of the conservation process of tropical and subtropical plants. This includes native species threatened by habitat loss, climate change and natural disasters.
