Village of Estero government building

Estero Village Council unanimously approved a resolution confirming, under Florida’s Live Local Act, that there is no village-owned property suitable for affordable housing. The act amended state statutes to require each municipality to prepare an inventory of all property owned by the municipality appropriate for use as affordable housing by Oct. 1. After staff evaluated the list of village-owned property, no property was found appropriate for affordable housing. Estero and other cities must revisit the inventory list, post it online and update it every three years.
