After hurricanes Helene and Milton severely impacted the Charlotte County area, organizers of the Florida International Air Show canceled the upcoming event slated for Nov. 2-3 in Punta Gorda. In 2023, the event brought 22,750 people from outside Charlotte County, which produced an economic impact of $5,310,800, according to a study from Tallahassee-based market–research firm Downs & St. Germain. The air show will resume in 2025.
