Alliance for the Arts today announced Executive Director Molly Rowan-Deckart will step down from her role, effective Dec. 15.
Rowan-Deckart has served in the position for four years and led the organization through a period of transformation, growth and challenges, including recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian and navigating statewide funding cuts. During her tenure, she has overseen advancements at the Alliance for the Arts, including expansion of the Alliance’s arts education programs, establishment of key community partnerships and planning of the organization’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which will launch in January 2025.
Organization officials said the board of directors established a transition plan to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities to senior leadership while an interim leadership strategy is considered. The organization is preparing to conduct a search for a new executive director in the coming months.
