Sea turtle nesting officially kicked off Monday in Southwest Florida after having its best season on record in 2022. Beachgoers are asked to fill in their holes at the end of the day, remove their furniture that could trap the endangered turtles when they come up at night and remove their trash because it could float out to sea and attract predators. To keep the beach dark for nesting turtles, those on the beach at night are asked not to use flashlights, WINK News reports.
