The Publix grocery store at 6900 Daniels Parkway, at the corner of Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers, will close June 22. The building is slated to be demolished, according to Lee County records, and then it will be rebuilt over the following few months. Publix officials did not have an exact timetable for reopening, but the new store will have a new layout and an upstairs seating area, said Lindsey Willis, media relations manager for Publix. “In terms of the remodel, we are always evaluating our stores to provide our customers a pleasurable experience by having a store that meets their shopping needs for today and into the future,” Willis wrote in an email.
