Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor will open Dec. 15, Allegiant Travel Co. officials announced during the Las Vegas-based company’s third quarter earnings report. The 785-room resort on more than 22 acres on Charlotte Harbor, which has cost more than $653 million as of the end of the third quarter, previously began accepting reservations for Nov. 20 and beyond, but that was pushed back. There will be 20 wholly owned and branded food and beverage concepts at the resort, which include seven signature restaurants, 11 bars and lounges and the 25,000-square-foot Harbor Yard’s Food Hall. Originally slated to open in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic halted construction for 17 months, and Hurricane Ian damaged the construction site more than 13 months ago.
