The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club is entering its final season before closing May 23, 2021, the longtime local resort announced. The legendary Naples landmark owned and operated by three generations of the Watkins family since 1946 is scheduled to be sold in May to The Athens Group, which plans to redevelop the 125-acre beachfront golf, spa and tennis resort. Plans show the creation of new lodging and residential buildings, including a 220-room luxury hotel and 185 condominiums for a property to be renamed Naples Beach Club Hotel, Residences and Golf Course. There’s still time this season to enjoy more than five months of the historic 319-room resort, which features a beachside swimming complex, a par-71 golf course redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 2016, Har-Tru tennis courts, a European-style spa, HB’s on the Gulf fine-dining restaurant and the popular Sunset Beach Bar & Grill, one of the best places to view a sunset in Southwest Florida. For reservations, call 239-261-2222 or visit naplesbeachhotel.com.
