Although the Super Bowl is approaching, pro football season will be far from over in Southwest Florida when the game ends. That’s because 55 NFL hopefuls are training for the NFL Draft, which takes April 28-30.
But X3 Performance and Physical Therapy is billing itself as more than just a place for NFL hopefuls. Located at 14651 JetPort Loop Road, not far from Southwest Florida International Airport, X3 has more than 20,000 square feet of space under air, plus about $300,000 worth of workout equipment.
“We’re here for anybody,” said part-owner Jordan Luallen, director of performance operations. “Ranging from a 10-year-old with a sprained ankle who needs physical therapy, all the way to a 65-year-old pickleball player who just wants to improve their agility to be better on the pickleball court. We’re here for anybody, at any and all ages.”
There is a staff of eight physical therapists and personal trainers overseeing the workouts and injury recoveries.
“One of the primary things is the integration of medical with physical therapy and the different aspects of going to overall performance,” said Luallen, who brought the concept to Fort Myers from Nashville, Tennessee. “Massage therapy. Stress specialists. Nutrition. Things like that. That allows us to be a really well-rounded, fully integrated performance facility.”
Zander Horvath, a former Purdue running back, is among those training at X3.
“Overall, it’s a great place,” Horvath said. “Training facility. The weight room. The food. Personal chef. It’s all in one spot. It’s very convenient. I think it should help me in the long run.”
Luallen said his biggest goal was providing one site for two concepts.
“My vision all along, my goal, was to marry performance training with physical therapy,” Luallen said. “To be able to do performance at a high level, you’ve got to have an integration of physical therapy.”
