A second PGA Tour Superstore is opening in Southwest Florida near the epicenter of hundreds of golf courses.

What used to be a Barnes & Noble bookstore at 23106 Fashion Drive at Coconut Point outdoor shopping center in Estero, will open at 9 a.m. Saturday as the nation’s 66th PGA Tour Superstore.

A line of customers is expected, as the store is giving away about $30,000 worth of merchandise and golf experiences. The store is also donating $15,000 to First Tee, a nonprofit that works to help build character in young players through golf.

The Barnes & Noble that closed in that location will reopen nearby at a storefront adjacent to Coconut Point’s Ulta later this year, Coconut Point Marketing Director Julie Clark said.

Jacob Woodford recently relocated from his hometown of Denver to manage the new 27,780-square-foot store, which will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

At the center of the store is a putting green that’s a little more than 1,000 square feet.

“The putting green is one of the main focal points of the store,” Woodford said. “At a little over 1,000 square feet, we’ll have every putter you can possibly think of. Scott Cameron, Ping, Callaway, Toulon. We’ll have all the different brands. You can do a putter fit as well, with one of our certified fitters.”

Golfers also can try the drivers and wedges inside either the three golf simulator bays or the store’s studio, where on-site professional golfers will work with customers on getting the perfect fit, Woodford said.

“People come in and want to demo the newest driver,” Woodford said. “The best wedge. From the PGA Superstore studio, you can really hit anything that the tour pros hit themselves. The studio is an elevated experience.

It will give you a lot of data to make sure that the clubs we’re fitting you into are the best clubs for you to go out and play your best.”

The PGA Superstore in Naples is at 2135 Tamiami Trail N.
