Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets Inc. has many grocery store projects pending in Collier County. Two new stores are under construction in East Naples, one is being rebooted on Marco Island and a 35-year-old store in Naples soon will be demolished and rebuilt. A 51,989-square-foot store that will anchor the new Fiddler’s Creek Plaza off U.S. 41 East nears completion at 15050 Sandpiper Lane. Publix is also busy in East Naples building out the former Lucky’s Market store space in Naples Towne Centre South, 3815 Tamiami Trail E., which has been proposed to include a new Publix prototype: Pours, a craft beer bar with cafe seating. Meanwhile, an expanded Publix at the Shops of Marco, 175 S. Barfield Drive, will reopen later this year after temporarily closing a year ago for demolition and redevelopment. In Naples, the Publix store at Neapolitan Way is slated to be demolished and redeveloped in early 2022, plans show.
