A lot of dirt is being turned off U.S. 41, just south of Alico Road at the northeast corner with Babcock Road. Public records show a project in the works on a 9.2-acre lot that’s for now known as “The Toy Vault.”
There will be two phases of construction to build 103,587 square feet of warehouse and office space. This will be the combined size in 10 buildings. All of them will have access to Babcock Road, which has access to 41.
Quaker Southwest Florida LLC bought the land for $1.5 million in December 2014. The same parcel had sold a year earlier for $3.37 million.
Cunningham Construction is handling the project.
The owner of the land told Gulfshore Business he would talk more about the project after more details are finalized.
Public records show the following as permitted to build at the site:
Building 1: 6,300 square feet
Building 2: 15,950 square feet
Building 3: 16,500 square feet
Building 4: 5,003 square feet with eight mini-warehouse units
Building 5: 2,560 square feet
Building 6: 11,400 square feet with 19 mini-warehouse units
Building 7: 27,000 square feet, two stories with 15 mini-warehouse units
Building 8: 3,000 square feet with five mini-warehouse units
Building 9: 13,500 square feet with 12 mini-warehouse units
Building 10: 2,374 square feet
