Lee Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 18 approved a contract to construct improvements at the busy Treeline Avenue and Daniels Parkway intersection, including restructuring lanes to add a second northbound right turn lane. The project converts one of the three underutilized northbound left turn lanes on Treeline into a thru-lane and repurposes an existing thru-lane into the new right turn lane. Additional work includes ADA upgrades at the Daniels Parkway/Treeline Avenue and Treeline Avenue/Intercom Lane intersections, along with signal improvements. County staff said shifting traffic patterns since the construction of the RSW Direct Connect a decade ago have reduced left-turn demand, while right-turn queues frequently extend well south of the intersection. Construction is scheduled for April through September, weather permitting, and will occur at night to limit traffic disruptions.
Lee County will begin work May 4 on intersection improvements at Treeline Avenue and Daniels Parkway.
